Description

Newcastle City Council are looking to expand the Cooperative Intelligent Transport System (C-ITS) deployed as part of the EU funded Compass4D and DfT funded Gosforth Smart Corridor project. These corridors include the B1318 Great North Road between its junction with Brunton Lane and the junction with Forsyth Road (referred to as the Gosforth corridor).

The scope of this procurement is for the On Board Unit and associated antennas. As part of the project there is a requirement to equip at least 45 vehicles with On Board Units (OBUs) that can communicate and process data received from the Road Side Units (RSUs) and as a result of the processed data pass Energy Efficient Intersection Service (EEIS) Messages to a Human Machine Interface (HMI).
