Description

Reading Borough Council is committed to promoting good life outcomes for people with learning disabilities and/or Autism with or without Education, Health and Care Plan.
It is recognized that access to some form of employment or training is important not only for economic wellbeing but also for social and emotional wellbeing, but barriers to employment persist for people with disabilities.

The Supported Employment, & Training Service provider will be commissioned to work with service users aged 18 to 65 years, who are diagnosed with a learning disability and/or Autism (LDA).
This includes services users with or without an Education, Health, and Care Plan. The Service will support adults not in Education, Employment, or Training. (NEETs)

The provider is to support service users to sustain some form of employment, which may come in the form of paid employment, volunteering, training, apprenticeships, traineeships, internships & work experience.
Support will include, working directly with service users to source and support work placements or paid employment opportunities and working with employers to increase disability awareness, encourage flexible methods of recruitment and increase confidence to work with people with LDA.
