Description
"Suitable suppliers are invited to submit a proposal to establish and maintain a panel of residents on behalf of Hounslow Council.
The community feedback the Council receives for its consultation and engagement activity is often not representative of the borough. There are some highly engaged residents and community group representatives who are well-represented, but many communities we don't hear enough from who are consistently under-represented. The residents panel will play a part in enabling the Council's aspiration to involve more diverse and representative samples of residents in engagement activities.
The panel will be representative of the borough's demographics, with enough members to provide a high level of confidence down to ward level. Panel members will be invited to take part in a range of consultation, research, and participatory activities including, but not limited to, 1-2-1 user research interviews, focus groups, workshops, working groups, steering groups, and surveys. We also want enough panel members to help avoid participation fatigue. We welcome a range of options from bidders on membership numbers, but anticipate a figure of around 2,000 to 3,000.
The topics of the engagement activities will, over time, cover the various services that the Council delivers. The residents panel will enable residents to voice their opinions, share their experiences and ideas, address concerns, and contribute to decision-making processes within the borough of Hounslow. Once the panel is established, residents may be given the option to take a more active role in what the panel does (e.g. suggesting topics or co-designing participation activities). "
