The STFC's ISIS Facility at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire is a leading source of pulsed neutrons and muons. The facility performs cutting edge research into the structure and properties of materials at an atomic and molecular level. It is the most productive research centre of its type in the world. Each year we welcome around 2000 visiting scientists who complete over 600 experiments.

ISIS Heavy Gang requires a cherrypicker in order to safely carry out work at heights.

The purchase is being put out to tender to ensure that ISIS gets the best value for money and the correct specification unit is purchased. ISIS does not currently own a cherrypicker of the required range.The unit is essential to ISIS operations (rescue plans included in RAs for high level work require a unit of this height to be on hand in case of emergency)
The unit must meet height and reach requirements and must comply with modern safety standards with all warnings and safety features included.

The unit must meet specification and performance specified in all areas of operation.

Critical Criteria

• Self propelled unit
• Diesel & electrically driven
• Greater than 20 metre lift
• Greater than 12 metre reach
• Up to 7000Kg overall weight
• Up to 4 metre turning circle
• Incorporate all modern health and safety features (as standard).

Warranty

It is required that a minimum manufacturer's warranty of 36 months is supplied.

Delivery of the cherrypicker is required on or before Tuesday 1st May 2018.
