Description

Provision of various steelwork fabrications, structural repairs and associated maintenance support services at the Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Ferry.

There are many routine and ad hoc maintenance requirements, as well as smaller projects across both services, for instance:
- contract support services,
- on-site welding inspection and testing,
- welding, maintenance, repairs and metal fabrications on board the ferries,
- maintenance and repairs to shore side infrastructure such as ferry chain gantries,
- minor structural repairs to bridge structure, gantries and runway beams,
- bridge and ferry inspection support,
- routine annual maintenance activities - greasing, cleaning bearing and joints, etc.,
- larger one-off contracts such as major bridge access improvements,
- general labour support - ferry chain replacement, ferry gantry maintenance.

Please note that existing arrangements involve the present contractor typically attending at Tamar Bridge & Torpoint Ferry sites each month for a duration of anywhere between 10-14 days depending on workloads and client requirements.
