Description

In October 2017 Birmingham City Council carried out an initial soft market testing exercise with the waste market to ensure that the implementation of our proposed procurement strategy would deliver robust competition and achieve value for money outcomes for the Council. Following this exercise the Council developed its final future procurement strategy which was agreed by the Councils Cabinet committee on the 13th February 2018. This report entitled "Procurement Strategy for Waste Management Services in support of the Waste Strategy Framework 2017 -2040" is also publically available and can be found here.

Birmingham City Council now invites interested parties to further engage with us so that we may capture the thoughts and views of the waste market about aspects of the Council's Procurement Strategy for:

• the treatment and disposal of residual waste,
• the management of waste transfer stations and household waste recycling services, and
• the processing of a range of recyclable materials and other associated services.

To participate in this Market Engagement Exercise, please download the attached document and complete and return as soon as possible and by no later than 15:00 hours (GMT) on [31st January 2019]

The Council may wish to discuss each questionnaire directly with the submitting organisation; however:

- no statement by any party within the questionnaire will form a part of the subsequent procurement processes
- participation within this market engagement exercise does not commit either party to participate in the subsequent procurement processes

BCC will be using its e-tendering system (in-tend) for the administration of this soft market engagement and providers must register with the system to be able to express an interest. The web address is: https://in-tendhost.co.uk/birminghamcc

Please note that your response may be uploaded before the closing date and BCC will begin to review responses as they come in.
