Description

Beckmill Court is a general needs social housing scheme set in the centre of Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. It consists of a number of interlinked blocks with a maximum height of 4 storeys. There are a total of 57 properties within Beckmill Court which are a mixture of flats and maisonettes.

The purpose of these works is twofold. It is firstly intended to improve resident comfort within Beckmill Court. This will be done through replacing their existing life expired heating systems. It will also be done by improving the thermal performance of the building fabric by installing external wall insulation.

It is also intended to improve the perception and image of Beckmill Court which will be done through both improving resident security and also improving the visual appearance of the scheme. This will be achieved by replacing communal entrances doors, upgrading the external lighting, refurbishing the internal communal areas and carrying out landscaping works.

Externally insulated render will be applied to the building to improve its appearance and the existing balcony drying areas will be enclosed.
