Description

Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) wish to invite providers to express their interest for the provision of the Greater Manchester Working Well Early Help Programme. This is a partnership programme between the GMCA and the GM Health and Social Care Partnership (GMHSCP). The aim of the proposal is to develop and test an effective early intervention system available to GM residents in work who become ill and risk falling out of the labour market, or are newly unemployed due to health issues, in order to enable a more rapid and sustainable return to the labour market. GMCA will be procuring Working Well Early Help on behalf of the GMCA and the GMHSCP. The contract will be awarded by the GMCA. Through its devolution agreements, Greater Manchester has a strong track record of delivering commissioned support to people long-term out of work with health conditions through the GM Working Well Programme, working collaboratively with DWP. GM Health and Social Care devolution presents opportunities to test an enhanced role for the health system in terms of health and employment-related support. This is set out in the Greater Manchester Population Health Plan, part of 'Taking Charge', the GM Health and Social Care Strategy, which sets out the need for prevention and earlier intervention to support people to remain in good quality employment. This programme supports the development of a whole population approach to people of working age in Greater Manchester, and building on the Working Well brand, prioritises the development of 'GM Working Well - Early Help' - to design and test an early intervention service to people with health conditions, who are at risk of falling out employment, or are newly unemployed. The contract term is expected to be for three years. We welcome consortia bids & other collaborative approaches to ensure that GM residents have the very best service offer that will help then into sustained employment. This marketing event is an opportunity for all interested providers to network and hear about our vision for this programme.
