Description
The Public Health Department of the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea is seeking a Contractor to deliver a Earls Community Champions Project for the borough of Kensington & Chelsea. Bids are invited from community-based organisations with established social and peer networks; who have a good reputation and knowledge of the local area and experience of recruiting, supporting and managing volunteers.
Community Champions is a health and wellbeing programme that works with local resident volunteers (the Champions) to improve their local communities through activities, events and campaigns.
The project will be based in the Earls Court and Redcliffe wards of RBKC, focussed on an area bounded by West Cromwell Road to the north; Fulham Road to the south; Earls Court Road/Redcliffe Gardens to the east and the borough boundary to the west. It will recruit 15-20 volunteers from this neighbourhood including up to 15 Community Champions and 5 Maternity Champions who will work with a full-time manager responsible for running the project.
The contract will be for five (5) years.
