Description

To strengthen UK resilience to disruptions, HMG requires analysis to understand current capacity across different semiconductor chips, how critical different sized semiconductors are to different industries, the barriers to creating additional capacity and a projection of capacity out to 2031.
The work should provide the following four key outputs:

Analysis of current capacity in current node sizes, with details on which manufacturers are producing what and where
Analysis of the barriers or incentives which are preventing additional capacity
Analysis on which chips or industries are likely to experience significant disruption
A projection of capacity out to 2031, which takes into account state-driven funding and policies in the sector.
