Description
The South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA) is at an advance stage of preparing its pre-submission Local Plan. We are now looking to undertake a Whole Plan Viability Appraisal of the policies across the Local Plan, to provide robust evidence that the strategy and policies of the Plan are deliverable.
The Duty of the National Park means that we are expected to focus new housing delivery on providing new affordable housing to meet local need. Therefore, we are looking to strengthen our policy for seeking affordable housing on development sites, by increasing the overall target and introducing new lower policy thresholds.
We would like to robustly test options devised to achieve the above, with respect to viability, with a view to positively strengthening the policy as far as is possible whilst maintaining an effective (deliverable) policy.
