Description
Conservation of eight major pieces of artwork of national significance.
* All require examination, but required work could include:
• Onsite visit to inspect artwork (Essential prior to quotes being submitted)
• Surface cleaning to remove ingrained dirt.
• Removal of patchy varnish and poor-quality retouching
• Removal of heavy, glossy varnish.
• Make good old repair works.
• Removal of leaching and treatment in those areas, followed by retouching previous damage as necessary.
• May require varnishing with a non-yellowing varnish for future protection.
• Each frame will require cleaning.
• Some frames will require replacement of lost plaster work.
• Canvas retention.
