Description
The Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult ("ORE Catapult") is proposing to develop, construct and operate an onshore test site for next-generation offshore wind turbines. The location selected for the turbine is on operational land at Associated British Ports Immingham. As part of a wider Environmental Impact Assessment an ecology survey for birds and bats. The proposal has the potential to impact the Humber Estuary Special Protection Area (SPA), Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and North Killingholme Haven Pits SSSI. To help determine the potential impacts and inform the mitigation strategy, Natural England has been consulted via their Discretionary Advice Service about methodology of bird & bat surveys (type, length, frequency etc.).
