Description

The project requirement is to replace the existing gas fired heating boiler plant with new during the school summer holiday period 24th July - 30th August 2024 at Alexander Hosea Primary School, Wickwar, South Gloucestershire GL12 8PF.

A full and detailed specification and drawings (RIBA/ ACE stage 4) will be issued for the works at the tender stage including all elements of M&E work and builders work.

The Council is seeking a Gas Safe® Heating Contractor to act as the Principal Contractor with the capability and experience to manage specialist sub-contractors to undertake and execute the contract works. The Council will not consent to the whole of the works to be sub-contracted. The Contractor will need to demonstrate they have recently completed at least two similar projects successfully (similar scope of work, value and timescale) and they have the competency and sufficient resources to meet these requirements.

The Contractor shall appoint a full-time site-based site supervisor throughout the works on site. It is expected the Contractor will have to work longer weekdays and weekends during the works period to complete the work within the contract programme requirements and include these costs in their tender.

The works shall be carried out in accordance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. The Contractors will need to demonstrate they are fully conversant with their responsibilities under the Regulations in their tender return and allow for all costs associated with their management of the Contract.

The whole of the works are to be carried out in accordance with the terms and conditions of the JCT Minor Works Building Contract without Quantities 2016, published on behalf of The Joint Contracts Tribunal Limited by Thomson Reuters (Legal) Limited trading as Sweet & Maxwell. The Contractor shall obtain a copy of The Joint Contracts Tribunal Limited Standard Building Contract without Quantities 2016 and shall make themselves aware of the conditions therein.

The Council is undertaking a restricted tender process to shortlist the number of contractors pricing the project to no more than five.

Contractors submitting this 'first stage' SSQ will need to meet the minimum (pass/fail) qualification requirements, provide examples of successfully completing projects of similar nature, value, timescale and complexity in Section 6. Complete question (to be scored) in Section 12.
