Description

Lymphoedema Service (19.571)

NHS Eastbourne, Hailsham and Seaford Clinical Commissioning Group
NHS Hastings and Rother Clinical Commissioning Group
NHS High Weald Lewes Havens Clinical Commissioning Group

Request for Information (RFI)

The Commissioner is seeking the views of Healthcare Providers for a Lymphoedema Service. The anticipated value of the Service is £648,000.00 per annum.

The Commissioner is considering a contract period of 3 years plus an option (option of the Commissioner) to extend the contract by up to a further 24 months.

The Aims of the Lymphoedema Service:

The Community Lymphoedema Service will provide a comprehensive, community based service for all patients with Lymphoedema, chronic oedema and lipoedema, regardless of cause, with access to appropriate treatment nearer to their homes, hence avoiding hospital treatments and improving the patient's quality of life:

The service will provide the highest quality treatment and an advisory and support service to patients with oedema, in order to prepare the patient for long-term independence, and to improve the quality of life for lymphoedema and chronic oedema patients.

The service will be a resource to promote the management of oedema, providing specialist advice and education to health care professionals commonly encountering this condition.
Patients at risk of lymphoedema need to know why they are at risk, what treatments are available and what to do should they develop lymphoedema and who to contact. This will be done through an organised education programme available to all health care professionals in raising awareness of lymphoedema within Sussex, including GPs, Practice Nurses, Community Nurses, Vascular, Oncology, Palliative care, Podiatry, Tissue Viability, Dermatology and Radiology teams.

This RFI process is designed to help the Commissioner form a view of the best way to commission the service and is not the beginning of a tender exercise. A further tender advertisement will be issued as/if required. Please submit your completed questionnaire via the portal:
https://in-tendhost.co.uk/soepscommissioning by 12:00 Midday on Friday 20th September 2019. Thank you.
