Description

DWP have strategic Hyperscale Cloud Hosting contracts which were placed to represent best value for money and high availability in order for services to be highly available to DWP's claimants online whenever needed, providing high response & resilience.

In line with DWP's Hosting Strategy to migrate from legacy hosting services to Hybrid Cloud services where the use of Hyperscale Cloud provision for OFFICIAL workloads is the primary objective, this has resulted in increased consumption levels for DWP's strategic Hyperscale hosting solutions. As a result, we need to look at opportunities for optimisation in line with the increased consumption to provide greater value.

DWP is committed to building a strategic digital approach for the future, reducing costs, and achieving value for money for taxpayers and having reviewed and made use of all available native Tooling with the Hyperscale Cloud suppliers and reviewed options within the market, now needs to progress to deploying a Tool that will enable them to identify and make demonstrable savings. There are financial savings and also savings in terms of time/effort saving.
