***THIS PIN NOTICE IS TO NOTIFY SUPPLIERS OF AN UPCOMING REQUIREMENT THAT WILL BE ADVERTISED USING THE CCS RM6219 LEARNING AND TRAINING SERVICES DPS, FILTER OPTIONS - BESPOKE TRAINING - LEARNING CATEGORY - PROJECT AND PROGRAMME MANAGEMENT***

British Geological Survey (BGS), wish to refresh, develop and in some cases reskill project and programme managers within BGS with the intended outcome that we have a consistent understanding of best practice in Programme and Project Management.
BGS are undertaking a review of potential Project Management Training and are proposing an investment of up to £100k in skills development through training.
The purpose will be to identify a Project & Portfolio Management cadre of staff to receive training at a variety of different levels as follows (approximate numbers):
The aim and objectives:
• Secure training and qualifications approximately 40 BGS staff in project management and/or programme management
• To ensure the training provides accredited project management methodology (PRINCE2, APM or Agile)
• To deliver certification/accreditation in project and programme management for the identified cohort.
• To provide bespoke training for the Senior Management Board (SMB) on the principles of Programme Management (1 day).
• To achieve the numbers of people trained within the budget
• To achieve the training before 31st March 2022.
• To where possible deliver the training in BGS cohorts rather than cohorts open to the public.
• To deliver bespoke programme management overview training to the BGS Senior Management
• To where possible provide a portfolio of project management accreditations (e.g. Prince 2, APM, Agile, MSP)
• Delivery by zoom
• Provide training material including but not limited to:
o Study material (pre course) where appropriate
o Manual and course material
o Access to examinations
o Certification on completion of training
o Sample exam questions and access to advice where appropriate

This contract will be awarded for an initial period up to 31st March 2022 with the option to extend for a further 6 months.
