APHA is an executive agency of Defra, working on behalf of Defra, Scottish Government and Welsh Government. APHA is responsible for animal health and welfare and the regulatory and enforcement aspects of plant health and bee health.
In the event of an Animal Health Outbreak and peacetime BAU scenarios, services are required to facilitate the capture and euthanising of poultry livestock on the affected premises. The Authority is seeking to appoint suppliers to a new framework to commence in September 2020.
