Description
The objective of this work package is to realise the potential of National Highways Structural Assessment Tool at Traffic Speeds (SATTS) and the network Traffic Speed Structural Surveys (TRASS) survey as the primary structural evaluation tool for flexible and rigid pavements. In particular
- To establish the methodology for assessing the structural robustness of flexible pavements utilising TRASS as the primary source of structural condition information, minimising the need for Deflectograph surveys on flexible pavements
- To commence the implementation of SATTS as a key source of structural condition information on rigid pavements - as a first sift of structural condition to enable any necessary detailed investigations (e.g., using FWD) to be easily targeted.
- To explore the potential of SATTS measurements to eventually remove the need detailed investigations using other devices on Rigid pavements.
- To seek opportunities to continuously develop and benefit from the capabilities provided by this device.
