Description

National Museums Liverpool (NML) is seeking to appoint a racking contractor to design, manufacture, supply, deliver and install a painting racking system to accommodate the volume of NML's paintings across our venues.

The duration of the contract is until 31st August 2024, with the option to extend annually until 31st August 2028, subject to requirements, funding, and satisfactory contractual performance.

The initial contract scope is to provide a racking system to accommodate the volume of NML's paintings currently in storage or on display within the International Slavery Museum (ISM) and Maritime Museum (MM), which have been identified for decant to support NML's major waterfront transformation project. Maximising storage space through system design is crucial. The new system must meet the volume requirements specified within the designated space on the NML estate as set out within this tender pack.

The contract value in respect of the initial requirements relating to the racking system for ISM and MM is approximated to range between £40,000 to £45,000 excluding VAT; (or between £48,000 to £54,000 including VAT).

The appointed supplier may be required to provide additional racking systems to what has initially been specified within the initial scope of this tender, as permitted under the full scope of this contract. Subject to this contract being extended for any identified additional requirements, the total value of the overall contract could reach up to £160,000 GBP excluding VAT; (or £192,000 GBP including VAT), although this is not guaranteed.
