Description

Research in the Energy Materials Laboratory develops solution-processed devices that convert and store the energy from sunlight to provide sustainable power and fuel. The laboratory contains world-leading expertise and facilities for dye-sensitized, perovskite and quantum dot solar cells as well as photo- and photoelectrocatalysis. The laboratory aligns with the institutional strategy that includes the establishment of Centre for Research Excellence in Energy, the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Renewable Energy at North east Universities (ReNU), and the establishment of NU Academic Track Fellowships, several of whom will benefit from this enhanced capacity and capability to test PV devices. We are seeking to upgrade our quantum efficiency facility to both increase capacity for solar cell testing (by integrating internal quantum efficiency measurement) and add the capability to test larger submodules (e.g. 10 x 10 cm).

This equipment is being funded through the UK Government's Defence Innovation Fund, as part of Project ViTAL.

The scope of this contract is for the supply, delivery and installation of the equipment detailed in the Invitation to Tender document to the University, with after-sales support and 12 months warranty and maintenance.

Expressions of interest in this project can be made by registering via the University's etendering portal at:
