Description

The London Borough of Bromley ("the Council") is inviting tenders for the provision of travel training for young people currently in receipt of Council funded and organised transport.

Travel training can be beneficial in enabling young people to gain independence skills and equality of access to public transport. It also empowers them to take greater control and choice in their lives, enabling them to learn new skills and take advantages of the opportunities in their local community and expand their future prospects.

Training is to be provided to enable 45 young people to become independent travellers. It is expected that the majority of these people will be in their early to mid teens but may include some adults.

It is recognised that for some people it may not be possible to become independent travellers. Therefore it is expected that the successful provider will begin training with significantly more than 45 young people in order to achieve this target.
The safety of the young people must not be compromised. The successful provider will therefore be required to undertake rigorous risk assessments and management plans.

The successful provider will be required to commence travel training to the first cohort of young people identified as quickly as possible following contract award.

The contract will run for a period of 1 year with the option to extend for a period up to 1 year followed by a further period of up to but not exceeding 1 year. Indicative Contract is Value is approximately £90k per annum. Providers are required to have a minimum annual turnover of £180k.

The tender opportunity will be run electronically through the London Tenders Portal and suppliers will need to register their company with the portal as soon as possible (if they have not already done so) at www.londontenders.org to ensure they are able to access and submit the relevant documents online.

All applications MUST be made through the London Tenders Portal ONLY and NOT to the Contact Details contained within this notice.
