Description

The CEMS (Continuous Emissions Monitoring System) is a critical piece of monitoring equipment which records the emissions produced by the Clinical Waste Incinerator (CWI) which cannot be operated unless the CEMS is on-line and meeting accuracy standards. There are two units, a duty and standby to provide resilience in the event one of the units developing a fault. The duty CEMS is reaching the end of its working life and over recent months has required a number of call outs to resolve failures and faults. At eight to nine years old this machine is at end of life status.
