Description

The proposed works in this tender are for the removal of all infrastructure and equipment relating to the Digital Global Position System (DGPS) at Earls Hill Transmitter Station. Access to the DGPS Transmitter Station is via a rough track which leads from a locked entrance gate adjacent to "Ryecroft" located on Sheilbrae Road, Sauchieburn, FK7 9QX, between Stirling and the Carron Valley. The track is approximately one kilometre long and a maximum of three meters wide in places.

The station consists of 3 No.Steel Tube Masts supported with steel guy ropes, each around 55m tall. Each mast has 3No. ground guy rope stations. There are also 2No. Brick buildings that shall be demolished as part of this project, drawings of these are issued as part of this tender package. The contractor must submit a works programme at tender stage with a start date on site of on or around 1st April 2024, sequence of works and completion date no later than 30th September 2024.

The submitted programme should therefore reflect the anticipated duration required to complete the works with specific account being taken for lead-in-times, delivery of materials, logistic arrangements, etc. A more detailed programme of work will be agreed between the Engineer and the appointed contractor. It is important that Tenderers or their representative(s) attend the site visit, any Tenderers submitting a tender that have not attended the site visit, will not be considered. Site visits will be conducted on 3 October 2023.
