Description

Homes England requires a Contractor to undertake the construction of the Primary Works associated with a development site known as Basford East located within Cheshire East Council.
The Works details are elaborated and fully itemised in Section 4: Scope of Works and in the separate Section D: Works Information.
A summary of the infrastructure works includes: -
1. Construction of new estate access roads (Southern and Western Spur), and a crossing (bottomless culvert) over the Basford Brook; The Contractor is to undertake detailed design and specify the pre-cast portal culvert that will support the proposed Western Spur carriageway as detailed further below.
2. Provision of new incoming utilities to service the proposed future residential and commercial / employment development at the Basford East site (including two electrical substations and one gas governor);
3. Installation of new surface and foul drainage systems to support the proposed future residential and commercial / employment development (including a Foul Water pumping station to be detailed and designed by the Contractor in tandem with the Foul Pipe network, as outlined in 4.3 below);
4. Diversion of the existing Basford Brook tributary around the perimeter of the commercial and employment site;
5. Installation of spare utility ducts below David Whitby Way to facilitate the future extension of utilities into adjacent land; and,
6. Construction of full-sized turning heads (45m long) at both ends of the Southern and Western Spur roads.
7. We have anecdotal evidence that a drain crosses the site, but Homes England does not know the exact location of this drain, the size or what it drains. The Contractor is required to locate the pipe, identify its purpose, and deliver a solution ensure that there is no interruption to flow to or from the source (which includes third party land).
