Description

The Metropolitan Borough Council of Sandwell is seeking expressions of interest from suitably experienced and competent Providers of a comprehensive, high quality and cost effective falls prevention Physical Activity Pathway Service for older adults, who are over the age of 60 and reside in the Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell.

Sandwell Trends (a website containing data and resources on Sandwell - https://www.sandwelltrends.info) shows that Sandwell is higher than the national average for injurious falls rates/prevalence from 2016-2017. Physical activity is proven to help with stability and functional fitness in older adults and the implementation of the pathway could potentially reduce the amount of injurious and non-injurious falls in Sandwell.
