Description

SMBC have social care duties for children and young people with disabilities under a number of pieces of legislation and policies. These include the Children Act 1989, The Breaks for Carers of Disabled Children Regulations 2011, Children and Families Act 2014 and the Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice (0 to 25) (DfE/DH, 2015) and Children's Social Care Reform - a vision for change (DfE, 2016).

SMBC is looking to create a Flexible Contracting Arrangement (FCA) Agreement with a number of providers of Social Care and Support Services for Children and Young People with Disabilities.

The tender will be let under "Light Touch" arrangements under the relevant government procurement directives and implemented in English Law in the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (PCR2015).

The FCA will be used by the Council's brokerage team to make purchases of care and support services for our children and young people with disabilities.
