Description

Canterbury City Council wants to commission information and advice services with a particular focus on welfare rights and housing advice.
Based on strong evidence of continuing local need, the provider will need to offer a range of welfare rights and housing advice services for local people.
The council wants to encourage early intervention and targeting of services to meet those in most need. This will help to ensure effective coordination and information sharing on service capacity and delivery issues to avoid duplication and ensure effective referrals.
The provider/s will ensure that the services offered fully align with and complement the district wide services offered by Canterbury City Council, in particular through the Housing and Community Services Teams.
The service delivered will be required to demonstrate high levels of social value through contributing to building resilience and self reliance of individuals to manage their own lives and the challenges they are faced with. The contract will focus on preventative work with local residents focusing on appropriate advice enabling them to find the right preventative solutions to their circumstances.
