Description

Wolverhampton City Council wish to appoint a suitably qualified contractor to deliver works detailed below to Bantock House Museum and Associated Stable Block located at Finchfield Road, Wolverhampton WV3 9LQ. The works in brief are as follows: The proposal to the stable block is to remove the timber stairs and form a ramped access between the performance space and the outside without having to pass into another room. The existing tea room is to be extended into the existing lower flat area being used by the antique centre which will also include an additional space for conference space/ additional function space. This will involve removal of some internal walls, of which some are of stud wall construction. The internal of the space will be in keeping with the rest of the area. The external façade will not be comprised or changed from what is currently there. An access way is to be formed from the court yard into the Dutch garden to allow the visitor to experience the enclosed garden space, to the opposite side of the courtyard we are proposing to link two gardens by forming access in the brick wall to create an external tea facilities for the public and enhance the landscaping to that area. Additionally, there is a requirement for metal fencing to match the existing next to the main house, to enable some of the external space to be used for specific function (wedding reception). Parking facilities will not be changed as the existing is sufficient for existing and proposal. The Works include the design and construction of internal stairs to the café; including hand rails and balustrades complete. It is the Wolverhampton City Council intent to appoint a single supplier who will be responsible for the delivery of the entire works. The proposed Terms and Conditions are the JCT Intermediate Building Form with Contractors Design, 2016 Edition and it is a requirement that the successful Contractor will have previous experience in using this type of form and that all tenderers will have a copy of this form for the purposes of tendering.
