Description

Requirement Overview
The required system needs to be capable of processing highly complex or data-laden problems using the concentrated compute resources of multiple compute nodes working in parallel through a low latency network. Some of BGS's calculations require specifically high memory bandwidth compute nodes; and with a minimum of 8 Gb memory per core.
1. The successful supplier must deliver, install, commission, configure and prove (including running agreed acceptance tests) all hardware and software elements of the systems.
2. The system must include in the price all components needed to construct the complete system, including (but not limited to) all, cabling, keyboards, monitors, management hardware, switches, software and licenses.
3. It is essential that the equipment supplied will fit into the existing rack space within the Keyworth Computer room. The equipment must be installed so as to be easily maintainable and potentially upgradeable. There must be no exposed cabling between cabinets - interconnecting cables must be gathered and appropriately labelled, using an acceptable cable marking system. All cabling (except power cabling) must be in trays above the equipment. Ethernet cables must be provided.
4. The successful Supplier must provide a comprehensive documentation set for all major elements of the supplied solution, electronic copies are permissible. Updated versions must be made available on a regular basis.
5. The successful Supplier must provide access to user / vendor forums and / or bug tracking facilities.
