Description
Wirral Borough Council invites applications to tender for a contract to provide an emergency accommodation-based housing support service for 6 homeless 16 and 17 year olds. It is recognised that it is in the best interests of most young people aged 16-17 to live in the family home or with responsible adults within their wider family network. Unfortunately, there will be occasions where it is untenable for the young person to do this and resultantly they become at risk of becoming homeless. Consequently, Wirral Council is seeking to provide up to six (6) young people, aged 16 & 17, with safe and secure emergency accommodation and access to advice, assistance and advocacy for a short period. The Council's vision is to support young people to move towards independence; whether this is to a longer-term supported housing service, permanent accommodation or to return home, as appropriate to the needs of the individual young person.
