Description
This project is to undertake scientific testing of a new (hand-held) soil coring tool against the existing soil coring approach (cores encased in plastic tubing) and the standard method of small pit excavation for Natural England's Long Term Monitoring Network. This project requires undertaking field sampling using the three methods across a range of soil types, and subsequent laboratory processing of samples to determine bulk density. The contractor will provide specified field observations and resulting data to Natural England in the form of spreadsheets and a brief written report.
