Description

A47 / A11 Thickthorn Interchange

Galliford Try, as the East Region Delivery Partner are delivering the A47 / A11 Thickthorn Interchange project in the county of Norfolk in partnership with Highways England. The project will help relieve congestion at Thickthorn junction by providing two new free-flowing slip roads that will connect the A47 with the A11. The new slip roads will re-route traffic away from the junction and flow it under new underpasses.

The project has recently submitted a Development Consent Order to the Planning Inspectorate and the project is forecast to commence on site in early 2023 and will take around 2 years to complete.

Package: Micro Tunnelling

Outline Scope of Works

The Micro Tunnelling Package consists of two parts:

Stage 1: Early Contractor Involvement. To provide technical and commercial input into the detailed design phase and to formulate the budget and programme for the works.

Stage 2: Construction. To provide all necessary supervision, labour, plant and materials required to undertake the process of micro-tunnelling under the A11 & A47.

It is currently anticipated that the Stage 1 ECI works will commence in June 2022.
