Description

NOTE: This notice was updated on 27 March 2018 for the following reason: Amended to reflect extended tender return date.the design and installation of the Becontree District Heating (DH) Scheme, a new district heating network in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. The initial phase of the scheme shall serve the following properties:

•Becontree Leisure Centre
•Barking and Dagenham Civic Centre
•New build residential developments being delivered by Countryside properties PLC and others.

Future phases of the scheme shall serve a number of schools in the Becontree area as well as an extension to the proposed residential development on the Ship and Anchor public house site.

A new energy centre shall be built adjacent to the existing Leisure Centre comprising gas fired CHP and boiler plant for the supply of heat to the DH network. The existing heating plant within the Leisure Centre plantroom shall be retained and connected to the new Energy centre. A further standalone CHP unit shall also be installed at the Civic Centre but this shall not form part of this Lot 2a and shall be tendered separately.

The CHP plant shall be configured to supply electricity to the Leisure Centre and Civic Centre sites with excess electrical generation exported to the grid.
