Description
This opportunity is being published by Cumbria County Council via 'The Chest' - https://www.the-chest.org.uk/ All clarifications about the opportunity should be made via the messages area. Any queries on how to use the 'The Chest' should be made via Proactis Supplier Help. Cumbria County Council requires the services of contractors for the delivery of Core Highway Surfacing schemes within the County of Cumbria. The schemes will generally involve the maintenance and repair of existing highways including, inlay, overlay and partial or full reconstruction. The services will generally not consist of patching or small scale resurfacing schemes although patching may form part of wider surfacing schemes. The contracts will be based on the NEC3 Term Service contract and any schemes procured will be the subject of a Task Order. Typical individual Task Order values vary from £50,000 to £250,000 but may be less than £10,000 or in excess £1m. The Contractor will be required to work with the Client in a collaborative fashion broadly following the principles of ISO 4400 The Core Surfacing Contracts comprise three lots: • Lot 1 - East Area • Lot 2 - South Area • Lot 3 - West Area Each Lot will form a standalone contract. A single preferred supplier will be appointed for each Lot for the whole term of the contract. Any Supplier can bid for any or all of the Lots but no contractor will be appointed to more than 2 Lots. Each contract will be for an initial term of 3 years with 3 possible extensions of 1 year each. Extensions will be at the sole discretion of the Council. The estimated annual value of the works awarded under each of lots is as follows: • Lot 1 - East Area: £2.25m - £5.50m • Lot 2 - South Area: £2.00m - £5.00m • Lot 3 - West Area: £2.00m - £5.00m
