Description

NOTE: This notice was updated on 25 July 2019 for the following reason: Clarification on specification(Luton and Dunstable Hospital have a staff car park adjacent to Derby Road, Luton, with a total capacity of 86 parking spaces. The hospital has recently acquired the house (695 Dunstable Road) adjacent to the carp park, which has a rear garden spanning approximately 40m long and with a timber fence separating it from the Derby Road carpark west.

This tendered scheme will convert part of the garden space of 695 Dunstable Road to provide an additional 8 car car parking spaces for Derby Road car park. 65 square metres of garden space for 695 Dunstable Road will be retained. Planning permission has been granted.

We are seeking for works to commence September 2019.

Outline of scheme includes:
- Clearing of existing site, including demolishing raised patio area
- Partial removal of the hedgerow along the boundary line between the existing car park and 695 Dunstable Road
- Provision of new fencing along existing boundary line of 695 Dunstable Road (to 697 Dunstable Road and 5 Derby Road)
- Provision of new fencing for boundary line between the expanded car park and 695 Dunstable Road
- Removal of one tree
- Surfacing of car park with a 40mm AC10 macadam wearing course, 60mm AC20 macadam base course, 100mm AC32 macadam roadbase and 300mm MOT Type 1 in 2 layers sub base
- Removal of existing car parking lines in car park to provide layout as drawn and new white lining. Each parking space to measure 2.4m wide by 4.9m long
- Break out of existing kerbs with provision of 225mm kerbs on new boundary line

Drainage to be provided using a fall into the existing gully system of Derby Road car park.
