Description

Birmingham City Council invites organisations to make an application to be considered for inclusion on a select list of tenderers for the refurbishment of Weoley Castle Preschool. The works are to be completed and invoiced in full before April 24th 2018

Brief Description of Works:

This proposal involves the extension of Weoley Castle Preschool to provide 3 additional classroom areas, toilets facilities, and a cloakroom / changing room. The proposal will address the existing washroom facilities by providing a complete refurbishment of the existing toilets whilst providing additional toilets within the existing building footprint.

The brief comprises of:

o 3 new classroom spaces within the legal boundary.
o The provision of 4 new toilet and baby change areas
o The refurbishment of 4 existing toilet areas.
o The provision of changing room / cloakroom with W.C. to service the existing sports hall
o The provision of a secure waiting area for visitors as part of the refurbishment.
o The provision of a reception /office area as part of the refurbishment
o Enhancing the front entrance with the provision of an entrance canopy
o The provision of a new secured soft and hard play area
o The relocation of 3 classroom/storage cabins
o All associated M+E works

The construction is to be a glulam structure with exterior larch cladding. The works are to procured through JCT Design and Build.

The Council will be using its e-tendering system (in-tend) for the administration and evaluation of this tender process, which along with the project scope and specification may also include requirements to provide the following for consideration:-

o Company Profile - Turnover, Organograms, Client Relationships, Sales Pipeline, Professional Body Registration / Memberships
o Trade and Bank references (where appropriate).
o Evidence of acceptable H&S and Quality Management Systems & Practices
o Evidence of insurances to support required levels of indemnity & liability
o Evidence of recent project history working on similar projects in similar environments with supporting case studies and method statements
