Description
Doncaster Council - Adult Services and health partners' Doncaster Clinical Commissioning Group (DCCG)
and Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH) wish to commission a service for the whole of the
Doncaster area that will deliver Communication Support Services for Deaf, Deafened and Deafblind People
resident in the Doncaster area.
The vision of this service is to provide an easily accessible, comprehensive and independent communication
service to support deaf and deafened residents throughout the Borough. The service will be responsive, flexible
and user driven to ensure that deaf people and their dependants can exercise control and independence
in their lives and maximise inclusion into the wider community. This will be through the provision of quality
communication support services for deaf people including those with a dual sensory loss or other complex
needs.
The Council wishes to work with the Service Provider to deliver a high quality service. This involves The Council
and Service Provider working together on an outcome-based approach to the purchase and provision of
services, including but not limited to:
• Share key objectives.
• Collaborate for mutual benefit.
• Communicate with each other clearly and regularly.
• Be open and honest with each other.
• Listen to, and understand, each other's point of view.
• Share relevant information, expertise and plans.
• Avoid duplication wherever possible.
• Seek to avoid conflicts but, where they arise, to resolve them quickly at a local level.
• Seek continuous improvement by working together to get the most out of the resources
• available and by finding better, more efficient ways of doing things
