Description

Provide a 'fit for purpose' case management system which will assist in making both the civil and criminal investigation process quicker, more efficient, more consistent and will also help to simplify and improve the management and monitoring of investigations and cases. Cheshire East Council's Community Safety Delivery Team & Trading Standards Investigations service is recognised for the standard of excellence they have set in successfully carrying out investigations, however criticised for the time to produce prosecution files resulting from investigations and the multiple processes currently involved, to build capacity and reduce costs"

The system is to ensure the up keeping of these standards and ultimately improve them whilst making the process much quicker, saving officer time, physical resources and costs. The system will also be implemented and used by the Community Enforcement (Wardens) in regards to investigations into such issues as fly tipping, littering, abandoned vehicles, anti-social behaviour and dog fouling.

Within all investigations the Community Safety Delivery Team must comply with the requirements of various pieces of legislation, including;

• Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000
• Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001
• Human Rights Act 1998
• Data Protection Act 1988
