Description

Co-ordination of Dementia Friendly Communities in Southampton. The outcomes expected from this service are:
• Increase awareness and sustainability of the Dementia Friendly Southampton project and Dementia Friendly Communities in the city
• Ensure there is an active identified group to take responsibility for driving forward the Dementia Friendly Southampton work to support local communities to become dementia friendly and ensure that individual, organisations and businesses are meeting their stated commitments.
• Build the capacity of Dementia Friendly Communities to raise awareness and challenge stigmas surrounding dementia, with stakeholders across the city, including diverse communities and key businesses and organisations.
• Build the capacity of Dementia Friendly Communities to empower people affected by dementia in Southampton, ensuring they are equipped to involve and consult.
