Description
University of Chester is seeking to appoint one or more waste management contractors for the collection and disposal of the following waste streams across all University of Chester campuses and sites.
This tender is for an initial period of 3 years, with the option to extend for up to one further period of 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance and comprises the following 3 lots:
Lot 1 - Mixed Municipal Waste and Mixed Dry Recyclable Waste
Lot 2 - Food
Lot 3 - Glass
Due to geographical considerations the University reserves the right to appoint more than one contractor to each LOT, the same contractor may be selected for more than one LOT, whilst reserving the right not to award at all.
The University of Chester has 8 campuses. Parkgate Road campus has a number of both business and student accommodation properties within a 3 mile radius of the Parkgate Road campus. Warrington campus is self-contained and comprises of office space and student accommodation. Thornton Science Park is self-contained and comprises of commercial office space and student teaching space. Kingsway, Riverside, Queens Park Campus, University Centre Shrewsbury and Marriss House are comprised of student teaching space only. All sites will need a regular collection service from all lots.
During the term of the contract, requirements may extend to also include those from other Departments and Faculties as and when any existing arrangements expire. Appointed contractor/s may also be requested to service new buildings/campuses brought into use that are within respective geographical regions; and should buildings be taken out of use, adjustments to service schedules will be made.
