Description

1815/351/EML/N/17 Workpiece Requirement - 2 x Sub Tables

The University of Sheffield wishes to invite tenders for a Workpiece Requirement - 2 x Sub Tables on behalf of the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, Castings Group at Catcliffe, South Yorkshire.

Scope of Requirement

The objective is the purchase of sub-tables to aid part setting & fixturing for supply to the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre.
These fixture elements are for use with two existing large format CNC machine tools:

• Soraluce FX12000 Floor type travelling column horizontal machining centre
• Dorries Scharman Contumat VMC5000 Vertical turning centre with 3+2 axis milling capability

The drawings provided herein are indicative. Alternative solutions will be evaluated, however, tenderers are required to note the following:
• The items are to be manufactured from cast iron, cast iron/steel alloy or of a steel fabrication construction. Bidders should state the proposed material and construction method, and the reason for the proposed method.
Wherever possible please adapt the quotation to use standard products if possible, the design intent of this document should be maintained.
