Description
Derbyshire County Council is seeking transport operators to provide safe, punctual, reliable and affordable service for passengers for the area of the High Peak and North Derbyshire Dales as part of the Derbyshire Connect, Active Travel group of services. The Active Travel to Health element - this service enables elderly or disabled people who struggle to use conventional public transport services to reach health related appointments such as hospitals, doctors surgeries, dentists, opticians, clinics etc. The initial contract to provide these services is for 2 ½ years however this may be extended to 3 ½ years. During that time is likely that the services will evolve to take account of changes in demand to provide for the transport needs of all public transport users in areas otherwise difficult to serve by conventional public transport.
