Description

The Council wishes to invite tenders for the supply of works in respect of for the full design and installation of approximately 15 lampposts within the remembrance gardens at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene, Newark. This is to provide suitable and sufficient lighting to the locality, alongside obtaining planning permission and providing a new electricity supply or utilising the existing supply for one CCTV column and the gating off on open area to the gardens in order to enhance the feelings of safety for those using the area and in the immediate vicinity.

The aims/objectives/service priorities of this contract are:
• Completion of the planning permission application - to include a detailed design and access statement, ecological considerations, listed building considerations, archaeological requirements and any other appropriate requirements to ensure full planning permission is granted. Ensuring that all proposals meet all relevant best practice guidelines for lighting projects.
• Completion of any church permission applications as required.
• Provide a detailed project timeline to be provided setting out key milestones and delivery targets to ensure completion before 31st March 2025
• Identification of suitable and sufficient contractors (if to be externally sourced) to undertake and deliver any excavations and installation of electrics and related cabling taking into consideration the proximity of historic landmarks and archaeological considerations.
• Supply and installation of approximately 15 lampposts as per approved design and planning permission alongside commissioning
• Make good all disturbed works within the vicinity.
• Provide all installation and testing paperwork and certificates related to the installation of the electricity supply and lampposts.

The anticipated contract commencement date is 01 05 2024.

The Council proposes to enter one contract for a period of 11 months with the preferred supplier. There is no option to extend as the works must be completed by 31 March 2025


The budget for this contract is £100,000.00 in its entirety (exclusive of VAT). Please Note: The Council reserves the right to reject any submissions that are over budget without further evaluation.
