Description

The fluoride varnish programme involves the application of a fluoride varnish to the teeth of children (from nursery to Year 6) within the school setting. The varnish is applied twice a year to each child for the entirety of the programme. Fluoride varnish application sessions are arranged between the dental practice and their allocated schools, with additional support and promotion from the oral health team, school nurses and local authority commissioners if required.
