Description

Women who have previously had children removed are supported to make sustainable change to address the multiple and complex risks in their lives e.g., substance misuse, mental health, domestic abuse, parenting capacity, adverse childhood experiences and unsafe housing conditions. The objective is intervention at a point when women have no children in their care to support them to take control of their lives and develop new skills and responses. Encourage partner agencies (e.g., criminal justice and drug and alcohol services) to think differently and put aside previous assessments and preconceptions. Through direct interventions and/ or encouraging access to partner agencies the service will address: • Drug and Alcohol Misuse • Loss and Grief - including childhood experience • Relationships - Personal and Professional • Health Needs - Sexual health including accessing contraception, GP, dental • Education and Employment • Housing • Self-reflection - Self-esteem, self-confidence and Resilience • Any other services relevant to the aims of the project. The contract has been awarded on the basis of most economically advantageous tender. The decision to award has been made through the Council's delegated approval procedures.
