Description

This competitive procurement exercise is undertaken to source a supplier who can provide additional capacity of advice to disabled people and their families and carers who have been affected by welfare changes. The service requirement is for the delivery of an integrated and targeted service (to include face to face, outreach, telephone and home visits) to support claimaints with complex cases/claims for disability welfare benefits to:

o Provide information on benefits and how to apply;
o Support potential applicants in making claims;
o Support applicants in challenging decisions;
o Check and review entitlement (including income maximisation); Provision of tribunal support (in the region of 75 per year) targeting claimants appealing decisions on disability benefits.

There is an expectation the provider will deliver in the region of 3000 advice interventions along with the tribunal support.
There will also be a requirement for the provider to take on, via formal handover, any 'live' case work under the current Welfare Reforms, Disability Advice and Benefits.
