Description
MIDAS is the inward investment agency for Greater Manchester, providing free of charge advice and assistance to national and international organisations looking to locate in the area or expand their existing operations. MIDAS' services include the provision of market research and labour information, assistance with finding property, access to grants and help to recruit and train staff.
The key deliverable of this project is for MIDAS to deliver between eight and ten topic led innovation focused events at regular intervals between November 2016 and September 2018 fostering collaborative relationships between SME's, large organisations, universities and public institutions. Each event should be focused on the relevant topic and should be located within Greater Manchester in locations relevant to the market sector. Each event should aim to attract between 10 and 20 individuals. Larger events will be considered but must have received approval from MIDAS at least three months before the event date. The agency will have full control over the timings for example breakfast/ daytime/ dinner events. The event will be chaired by an industry expert.
Each event should be focused on a specific topic aligned to each of MIDAS's priority sectors as follows:
1. Digital, Creative and Technology
2. Advanced Manufacturing
3. Life Sciences
4. Smart Energy/ Low Carbon
For each event MIDAS will require:
1. The development of a well-reasoned and fully developed theme and delivery plan for each event.
2. Development of the agenda.
3. Sector targeted key messages for each event.
4. Venue finding and booking.
5. Event logistics including event timings.
6. An account manager to attend events and run logistics.
7. Room dressing (where appropriate.)
8. AV booking (where appropriate.)
9. Pre event communication copy and design. This should include invitations and company/researcher profiles of all participants to be sent in advance of event.
10. Invitation responses to be managed.
11. A point of contact for any queries in relation to the events.
12. Post event communication copy and design including thank you email and follow up communications.
13. Content creation and design of event collaterals such as place cards, programmes, company information documents (where appropriate.)
