Description

Modification Notice
Original description: This contract is for the maintenance, repair and operation of building services, equipment and engineering services, fabric maintenance, lift maintenance, project management services, space planning, structured cabling and helpdesk, etc. as described in the contract documents, incorporating the public health, mechanical, electrical and fire protection systems contained within this contract for The Natural History Museum estate. Hard FM Services includes the following services: - Statutory, planned and reactive M&E maintenance; - Building fabric maintenance; - Helpdesk; - Project management and support services; - Management of Health and Safety and Permits to Work.
Description of the modifications
The Museum has extended its contract for Hard FM Services for a period of two years beyond the period advertised in the original OJEU notice, to expire on 30 June 2025.
Description of the economic or technical reasons and the inconvenience or duplication of cost preventing a change of contractor:
Technical reasons and significant inconvenience: Significant uncertainty regarding future requirements for FM services across the estate, in particular the Museum's planned new science and digitisation centre, means that approaching the market at this time would present significant risks. The Museum also plans to deliver significant projects in the coming period, most notably its Urban Nature Project and its new science and digitisation centre with significant impact on workloads and resourcing
