Description

The ODPCVC is responsible for the removal and recovery of a large number of motor vehicles, vehicle related parts, loads and other items of plant and equipment from the roads and other areas within County Durham and Darlington.

Whilst a proportion of all such recoveries are resourced by the Highways Agency, Motoring Organisations and motorists' own private arrangements, the remainder are recovered by order of the Police using appropriate powers, or at the request of the owners themselves.

The ODPCVC wishes to appoint a number of Recovery Operators (Suppliers) to deliver the provision of vehicle recovery.
The Vehicle Recovery Scheme will be managed 'In house' by a small team based at Police Headquarters in Durham.
The contract will be divided into geographic lots, details of which will be available in the Tender Specification.
